The Curriculum

Physical education is part of the school curriculum in this college. Two periods per cycle are allocated to physical education from Form 1 to 6. Starting from 1997, all physical education lessons are conducted as double-periods. Normally, physical education lessons for Form 1, 2, and 6 are conducted in our school playground while those for Form 3 to 5 are conducted in Perth Street Sports Ground.

Our P.E.  syllabus is mostly based on the Syllabuses for Secondary Schools: Physical Education (Secondary I-V) as advocated by the Curriculum Development Committee 1988. In view of the limitation of time and facilities, this syllabus only comprises activities that have been found to be popular among our students. However, students are encouraged to extend their interests through the participation in extra-curricular activities.

By means of teaching students various sport skills and knowledge, it is hoped that our physical education lessons may help students

  1. to be aware of the importance of good health and physical fitness, and develop an active life-style through participation in physical activities with the necessary skills and knowledge learned;

  2. develop desirable moral behavior and qualities of cooperation which are prerequisites for integration into the community;

  3. develop their leadership and the ability to make decisions; and extend their appreciation of aesthetic movements.

The Examination

We have started a new examination system from the school year 2001-2002. The P.E. examination now consists of four areas:

  1. Skill Test,

  2. Fitness Test,

  3. Attendance and Attitude, and

  4. Sports Participation.
